AquaDoll Wig Review!

So I’m finally getting around to doing this one! Yay! So for starters, this was my first AquaDoll purchase. For those of you wondering I ordered from the Rakuten AquaDoll store. Here is a link to the wig I’m reviewing here, I ordered it in WR. Because this particular store doesn’t ship to the U.S. I used Tenso.com as my forwarding service.

Everything arrived as I had purchased and Tenso was very easy to use and professional. I highly recommend them if you have no other way of getting items from Japan to you. =)

So onward! First of all I have to say that just based on some of the pictures of this wig they have posted in the shop right now, I doubt I would have gotten it, however I’m really glad I did. It looks much better in person than it does online. The color in the website for WR is pretty accurate, it looks more brown in my photos probably due to the poor lighting. In person it is a lovely shade of dark red with really well done dark highlights.

Here is an overall picture of the style:

I love how the lines on this wig fall. Straight down to soft curls that aren’t overpowering. The bangs are curled but fairly easy to wear either brushed to the side or on your forehead. I showed them brushed to the side in this picture. I’ve shown it two ways in this review, both fluffed up and fairly straight.

Here is a picture of the top, which shows both the highlights and the artificial scalp.

Overall it really does look like I dyed my hair this color without having to go through all the hassle of actually stripping my natural hair color, dying it this color, and then keeping up with the maintenance of this color. =D

Another picture of it fluffed up and me making my obligatory silly face:

It looks absolutely adorable with simple bow headbands (preferably black), I wish I had gotten some better pictures of that. =/

Now for some pictures of it not so fluffed and looking a little less curly:

And yes, I invested (a whole $5, look out) in a pair of nerd glasses!!! Yay! I feel so adorkable now lol =P

Ok so overall the quality of AquaDoll was wonderful. Better than the Clair Beauty wigs I have so far. Granted I paid more, but I feel like it was worth the price. The hair isn’t as shiny and feels like silk. Truly lovely. =)

Final Verdict!

Pros:

  • Wonderful color with blending of highlights and lowlights.
  • Really great style.
  • Versatile to wear with accessories and either fluffed or not fluffed.
  • Quality was top notch for price.

Cons:

  • The bangs were overwhelming at first and then I got used to them. If I REALLY wanted to I could trim them but I’ve chosen not to.

Final thoughts: I love this wig so much! Hands down my new favorite along with the boyfriend. =)
